Date 26th October 2009, Place - Shanmukhananda Hall Mumbai, Occasion - Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar's 72nd birthday celebration.
The evening was set with some great voices in the film industry like, bela shende, Vaishali samant, the soothing sadhana ji Sargam, Udit Narayan ji, Shaan and none other than great Hariharan sahab.
The evening started with Naam gum jayega sung by bela, truly amazing to hear it, especially when Lata didi is present in the crowd. Followed by Aayega aanewala by Vaishali. The evening was taking up a great shape with these performances. Then arrived sadhanaji, and mesmerized the audience with her colors. Udit Narayanji was as smooth as he always is, shaan was very energetic. But the show was stolen by only one artist, Shri hariharan sahab.
The curtains opened again for the set stage of Hariji, with Sarangi, Harmonium, Guitar & Tabla, the son of saraswati maa, started painting the canvas. This was the moment of the day.
Ghazals, sung with heart, melody, great rendering and amazing urdu poetry. What one can ask if Hariji is on the stage singing Tuhire in his own way, great !!!!!
I am still listening to the recording of yesterday, in the background while writing this blog. Some performances make a lasting impression on your mind. This was definitely one of them which i will remember for a long time to come.
Thanks Hariji, for giving me the pleasure of being there, and listen to you, I wish if one day I could learn Music from you, it would be a great thing in my life. And I pray to God that you keep singing like this, and let us enjoy your great soulful voice.
